The Greatest American Rock Band Bracket!
Round 2: Voting Completed
In Round 2, over 4,000 votes were cast! Thanks to everyone who voted to keep this exciting tournament moving forward.
And... here are the results! In the Classic Rock division, the upstart #9 Allman Brothers demolished the #1-seeded Beach Boys, while the #2 Eagles, #2 Grateful Dead, and #5 Heartbreakers all move forward. In the Indie/Grunge division, Pearl Jam emerged victorious in a tight contest against Nirvana, while the other three top seeds advanced. In the Funk/R&B and Punk/Hard Rock divisions, the top four seeds in each division moved on. Unfortunately, the improbable run of #10 Alice Cooper ended in a narrow loss to #2 Metallica.
The Sweet Sixteen round therefore features one collosal clash of the Titans after another. Can the Allman Brothers continue their Cinderella run against the Heartbreakers? Will Grunge triumph over College Rock? How much farther can Prince and the Revolution advance? Will the Hard Rock of Van Halen outlast the revolutionary Punk of the Ramones?
There's only one way to answer these vesing questions: Vote in the Sweet Sixteen! Voting begins today, March 15, and lasts through Monday, March 20. CLICK ON THE LINK BELOW TO VOTE!
